Complete Classification and Cleanup
You've picked your music folder and chosen this service. Here's exactly what happens next.
If you have not already picked your music folder, go to the “Get Started” tab and hit the “Select Folder” button and we will see you back here shortly.
On the pricing page, you'll see your combined price for both services. Pay once, when you're ready.
After you pay, head to the Genre Classifier. GenreFix already knows your folder — confirm it and press start. It reads only the information about your songs (scans this information only; nothing is uploaded, and your music never leaves your computer).
When it finishes, you'll see every artist with its genre, a confidence level, and a plain-language reason for any uncertain call. Change anything you disagree with using the simple dropdown — your edits are saved.
Download it, unzip it, and double-click run_tagger (Windows: click "Run" if asked; Mac: right-click and choose "Open"). A window opens — click Choose Folder, pick your music folder, click Start. It fills in missing info, writes your genres into every song, and tidies your artist names, all in one pass.
Head to the Duplicate Finder. Choose which file type to keep when a song exists in more than one format, confirm your folder, and press start.
You'll see every duplicate set and which copy GenreFix will keep, and why. Nothing has moved yet.
Download it, unzip it, and double-click it the same way. It moves the extra copies into a !GenreFix Duplicates folder inside your music folder. Nothing is deleted — every file it moved is sitting safely in that folder.
Review the !GenreFix Duplicates folder whenever you like and remove what you don't want. Your collection is now cleanly tagged, consistently named, and free of clutter.
